Pre-Marriage Course
Timing & Validity
- Attend 6 months to 1 year before wedding.
- Certificate valid for 1 year only.
- Must attend ALL sessions.
Documents & Fee
- Copy of both ICs
- Baptism & Confirmation certificates
- RM 150.00 per couple
Plan early: Certificate expires after 1 year. Keep safe for PNI.

Pre-nuptial Inquiry (PNI)
DO NOT set wedding date or print invites before PNI! Priest must approve date / time. Civil registration happens AFTER PNI.
Appointment & Policy
- Contact parish office at least 6 months before wedding.
- Priest grants approval for wedding date/time.
- SHC policy: If multiple couples share date/time → weddings combined (max 3 couples).
Required Documents (PNI)
- IC & Birth Certificate copies
- Baptismal & Confirmation Certificates
- Pre-Marriage Course Certificate
- 2 passport-sized photos
- Medical Check-up copy
- Liber Status (if from other parish, valid 6 months before wedding)
- Statutory Declaration (if IC status/religion wrong)
- Divorce Petition Letter (if applicable)
- Commanding Officer letter (military/police)
- JPN.KC05 copy (convalidation cases)
Catholic Wedding Witnesses
- Married Catholic couple (both Catholic).
- Practicing faith, attend Holy Mass, mature experience.
- Provide: Baptismal + Confirmation + Church Marriage Certificate of witnesses.
Submit complete documents during PNI or at least 1 month before wedding.

JPN Registration (Civil)
Order: Complete PNI first, then apply for JPN marriage registration.
Application Rules
- Apply at NRD based on IC address or reside 7+1 days in district.
- Registration done after 21 days + 1 day (max 6 months from application).
- Police/military: include Marriage Permission Letter.
JPN Documents
- IC copies (both)
- Birth Certificates
- Recent passport photo
- Confirmation of Freedom of Marriage (foreign spouse)
After NRD issues certificate → submit copy to parish / PNI for convalidation.

Holy Matrimony at SHC
Before Ceremony
- Sacrament of Confession: 1 week before wedding
- Attend Wedding Rehearsal
- Choir, servers, flowers → consult parish office.
Reminders
- Clear all documents with priest.
- Confirm rehearsal 2 weeks prior.
Quick Timeline
12–6 months: Pre-Marriage Course
6–4 months: PNI + priest approval (never set date before)
After PNI: JPN civil application
1 month before: Confession & Rehearsal
