Sacrament of Baptism

Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit (vitae spiritualis ianua), and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission: “Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water in the word.” Christian initiation is accomplished by three sacraments together: Baptism which is the beginning of new life; Confirmation which is its strengthening; and the Eucharist which nourishes the disciple with Christ’s Body and Blood for his transformation in Christ.

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you” (Mt 28:19-20).

RCIA

To be a part of our Catholic family, you would need to attend the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA), a formation programme developed by the Catholic Church for those who are interested to join the Catholic faith, including our brothers and sisters from other Christian denominations. Candidates are gradually introduced to aspects of Catholic beliefs and practices.

Our parish has RCIA programmes conducted in English, Mandarin and B. Malaysia.

The enrolment of candidates will be posted in the Church Bulletin.
