Sunday Reflection
Jesus reads out the purpose of His coming into the world. The focus of His ministry is the poor. Jesus walks into the house of a man who considers himself unworthy to have Jesus under his roof; He touches those who are untouchables, unworthy in the eyes of society; He allows Himself to be touched by those who are considered unworthy to touch Him; He eats and drinks with those who have no status in society.
The goal of His ministry is not merely healing and feeding but giving dignity to human beings. The lines of the scroll that He reads clearly gives the message that the ‘have-nots’ will have the Kingdom. What is the purpose of my life as a disciple of Jesus?
